My second home.
Plettenberg Bay is located just outside of Knysna. Here are some of my favorite place to eat in my favorite place in the world.
The Fat Fish:
As the name clearly shows, The Fat Fish prides itself in their incredible talent to make a top notch fish and chips. The outside is crunchy, and the fish is cooked perfectly, light and fluffy. Their chips are described in exactly the same way! Their portions are very generous and you will not leave disappointed.

Their wine list is also very broad and their waiters will always suggest a good wine to pair with your meal.
I always fluctuate between their Fish and Chips and their Fried Calamari (and so does my weight). Their calamari is fresh and perfectly cooked.

The Fat Fish is a must try restaurant when you are in the area. You will definitely get your money's worth.
The Lookout Deck:
Probably the most famous restaurant in Plett, the Lookout Deck has the most incredible sea view. In comparison to the Fat Fish, The Lookout sells more pub grilled foods, but are also famous for their pint of prawns, hake and calamari combos and mussel pots.
If you are in the mood for something a bit more classy, why not try their fresh oysters? At R25.00 an oyster, you are in for a treat!

Ice Dream Land:
New to the Plett food scene, Ice Dream Land has shared their gift of making out-of-this-world ice cream, pizzas and cheese. It is owned by an Italian family, and coming form someone who has never been to Italy (so take it with a pinch of salt), it is pure Italian Pizza!
Don't believe me? Just take a look at the picture below!

Ice Dream Land is located by the Plett airport on the N2. They have a rustic setting with a children's play spot with swings, which makes it perfect for the whole family! Bring your own wine, beers or other alcoholic beverages as they do not yet have a liquor license.
Sit back and enjoy the tastes of Italy in a small town in South Africa.
The Table:
A family friendly restaurant located in the main street of town, the Table is always jam packed and offers delicious pastas, pizzas, and snack platters.
My standard meal is always either their Spinach Feta and Sundried Tomato Pizza, or their Snack Platter for 2 which comes with grilled calamari and fried squid, haloumi, potato wedges, bread and a variety of delicious sauces. They also have a great wine selection, so go with your loved ones, share a bottle of wine and enjoy!

If you ever get a chance to visit this amazing town, take it. The people are friendly, the weather is spectacular in any season, and the fresh air might just do you some good.
